In its latest Core Optical Film Patent Analysis report, Displaybank (www.displaybank.com), a display market research institute, stated that dominance in optical film technology still lies with Japanese companies. However, there have been movements to the supply of high value added film at competitive prices among companies in Korea and the USA, holding Japanese vendors in check.

The ITU Radiocommunication Assembly took a decision of global importance to include WiMax-derived technology in the framework of the IMT-2000 set of standards on October 19, 2007 in Geneva, Switzerland. This agreement paves the way for the deployment of a range of voice, data, and multimedia services to both stationary and mobile devices. Significantly, it opens the door to mobile Internet, catering to demand in both urban and rural markets.

Robot World 2007 has come to a close, finishing on October 21. According to attendants to the conference, it was the largest and most impressive robotics exhibition to date.

There were generally three categories of robots at the conference. The first category was the most well-known, industrial robots. Established and famous companies in the industrial robotics industry such as Robotech Co., Ltd, Robostar Co., Ltd., showed their highly sophisticated robotic arms used for automobile manufacturing.
