Sketcher, Zio Interactive's flagship game, was launched at the end of July last year. It recorded over 800,000 downloads in the nation alone and has been served in foreign countries including the U.S. and Europe. It is going to be provided in China later this year and then in Japan next year. Sketcher advanced to the finals of International Mobile Game Award (IMGA) in 2006 based on its unique method of progress and graphic.

Q: Would you comment on merits of Incheon City as the Robot Land? What are differences between Incheon and other cities?

A: First, the No. 1 condition to become Robot Land should be a theme park with ability to stand on its own. Namely, Incheon is equipped with an optimum condition to build a global-level theme park in terms of location. It is possible for Incheon to develop a top-class tourist product in Asia that can attract more than 6.05 million foreign visitors annually.

The Korean patent office, while now one of the largest and most advanced governmental offices worldwide, has a short history. The Korean Patent Law was enacted in December of 1961. It has undergone many changes since that time in response to the changing conditions in industry and intellectual property, both domestic and international. The most recent amendments were attached in July of 1996. They were put in to harmonize Korean patent law with the Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPs) Agreement set up by the World Trade Organization.

Starting from late 2003, Design Korea has been held alternately at home and abroad with every other year. This Design Korea is not only an exhibition it is possible for everyone to visit, but also plays a role as a CeBIT Show of design field which supports business between design companies, corporations and designers.

Actually, in 2005 1,468 buyers from 25 countries visited this Design Korea. Thereby, business talks of 718 cases and contract conclusion of 178 cases were attained.

To effectively deal with soaring oil prices, the government and Korea Energy Management Corp. held the 29th energy saving acceleration contest at the 63 Building in Seoul on November 7.

In 1985, the government designated November when energy consumption begins to rise rapidly as the "energy saving month" and since then it has implemented a variety of events to accelerate energy saving. Average oil price has continued to soar from US$61.5 in 2006 to US$67.4 in August 2007 and further to US$75.8 in October 2007.

The international game exhibition GSTAR 2007 (www.gstar.or.kr) has started its 4 day rave at KINTEX, Ilsan on November 8. GSTAR is hosted by the GSTAR Organization Committee chaired by Hong Gi-wha and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Information and Communication. The slogan of this year is Exciting Games, Growing Business. The main focus of this third exhibition is to set a firm foundation for the exhibition to reinforce differentiated business support policies to make a place for a game culture festival.
