Social Value Connect (SOVAC) 2020, Korea's largest private festival related to social values, will open on Sept. 1 to seek solutions of various social problems that had deepened owing to COVID-19.
SOVAC began in 2018 when SK Chairman Chey Tae-won suggested, "Let's create a venue for cooperation and exchanges so that everyone can participate in solving social problems and create social values."
According to the SOVAC Secretariat on Aug. 30, various programs such as lectures, talk shows, real-time contests, and college student challenges will be held online from 10 a.m. every Tuesday to Friday from Sept. 1 to 24.
SOVAC is a venue for connection, cooperation, communication and exchange where people who want to solve social problems and create social values gather in various fields to share their experiences and wisdom and develop cooperation.
Since the first one-day competition at Walkerhill Hotel in Gwangjang-dong, Seoul, in May last year, more than 5,000 people have gathered. This year, the event will be held non-face-to-face in consideration of social distance.
Compared to last year, the number of companies participating in the SOVAC2020 has increased. Leading domestic and foreign companies such as POSCO, Shinhan Financial Group and Germany's Basf and platform companies such as Naver, Kakao and Google will join SOVAC.
CEOs of domestic and foreign companies, including Chung Eui-sun, senior vice chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, have decided to send congratulatory messages to the "Social Value Connect 2020" festival led by SK.
The SOVAC 2020 has become richer and more diverse in terms of its contents than last year. For effective message delivery, various formats reflecting session characteristics were applied, and famous celebrities, announcers and YouTubers will participate in various sessions, increasing public affinity.
