Malicious Code Appears in Android Applications

Personal information security alert to Android phone users! Shiftworks Co.Ltd. warned that Android's OS has a vulnerability to personal information leakage.

An official from Shiftworks Co.Ltd., a smartphone security company in Korea, reported that about 30 malicious applications, which have been analyzed during the last 2 or 3 months, can steal personal information of users. It is unlike the existing malicious applications, which can only collect IMEI and phone information.

Currently, the leakage of personal information by malicious applications includes the following: telephone number, IMEI, SIM national information, SIM serial number, voicemail number, email, internet history, SMS information, network access methods, access location.

Those malicious codes are spreading rapidly by disguising itself as 'Eeoeandroid.' It has most of the similar features like 'jackeeywallpaper.'
