LG Electronics is actively carrying out marketing activities of its strategic smartphone LG Wing by utilizing its YouTube channel.
This strategy reflects the trend of increasing number of new generation YouTube users.
LG Electronics' strategic smartphone LG Wing appeared in the music video for "One (Monster & Infinity)" of SuperM's first album released on September 25. The video has received more than 16 million views since its release.
At the beginning of the music video, SuperM member Taeyong uses LG Wing's "Swivel Mode" to check the map. In the second half of the video, Taemin presents a mysterious symbol through the LG Wing, stimulating viewers' curiosity.
LG Wing is a product that adds "swivel mode" to the convenience of bar type smartphones that users are familiar with, giving them a completely different user experience.
LG Electronics is hoping that its differentiated form factor and excellent multi-tasking performance will be known to more global consumers through the SuperM music video.
Meanwhile, LG Electronics is focusing on online marketing for its smartphones. Videos related to the release of LG wings have been continuously spreading through communities around the world.
This year, the company also unveiled a variety of new products, ranging from premium to low-priced products, including LG Velvet, both at home and abroad.
"LG Wing is a product that adds the new user experience of swivel mode to existing smartphones," said Shin Jae-hyuk, head of mobile marketing at LG Electronics. "LG Electronics will carry out various marketing activities so that more customers can experience LG Wing."
Meanwhile, LG Electronics launched the LG Wing on Sept. 6 through its own channels with three local mobile carriers. The store price is 1,098,900 Korean won. This is the lowest price among "differential Smartphones" that have been released in South Korea.
