LG Group will hold a briefing session on its business plan for next year from Oct. 19. According to business sources on Oct. 16, LG will hold a business report meeting for about a month starting with LG Household & Health Care on Oct. 19.
The meeting will be presided over by LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and CEOs and business heads of each affiliate will attend to finalize their business plans and management strategies for next year.
The business community sees the 2021 business report as an inflection point for LG Group. LG Group Chairman Koo, who will mark his fourth year in office next year, is expected to reveal his color in earnest.
This year, it is said that intensive discussions will be held on enhancing customer values and strengthening the competitiveness of major and growth businesses in line with the three keywords that Chairman Koo has emphasized: pragmatism, customer value, and future preparation.
Following a workshop for presidents held online last month, each company will also seek ways to find opportunities for the "post-COVID-19" era, shift to customer-centered ways, and accelerate digital transformation. Keywords are 'customer', 'future' and 'practical value'.
Chairman Koo is likely to once again put forward the topic of "customer" at the business report. He is looking for an interface where LG executives and employees meet with customers whenever he has time.
Another keyword that explains LG this year is the "future." Chairman Koo has recently frequently mentioned upgrading his portfolio and finding growth engines. In May, he visited Magok LG Science Park and ordered its affiliates to speed up their digital transformation and introduction of artificial intelligence.
