KT&G is going to release cigarette-type e-cigarette "lil Hybrid 2.0" and exclusive stick "MIIX" in Japan on Oct. 26 along with Philip Morris International (PMI).
Japan, the third-largest consumer of e-cigarettes after Russia and Ukraine, is known as the world's largest consumer of e-cigarettes. The Japanese e-cigarette market has grown rapidly over the past few years under fierce competition with global manufacturers.
Unlike Russia and Ukraine, where the "lil solid" was released, the Japanese market has a "lil hybrid 2.0" and a dedicated stick "MIIX." First-time selling products are 'MATT BLACK', 'COBALT BLUE', 'PRISM WHITE', and 'METALLIC BRONZE' and 'MIX REGULAR' and 'MIX REGULAR' and 'MIIX REGULAR' and MIIX MIX.
PMI will be in charge of selling KT&G products in the Japanese market, as in countries that have been released before, and product launches will be first introduced in two regions: Fukuoka Prefecture and Miyagi Prefecture.
In addition, the two companies are conducting global collaboration to make inroads into as many countries as possible based on successful overseas launches.
Lim Wang-seop, head of KT&G NGP Business Division, said, "'Lil Hybrid', which is applied with KT&G's unique technology and innovation, will be released in Japan. We will continue to provide various options to consumers in overseas markets through continuous cooperation with PMI."
