Hyundai Elevator, which developed the "Motion Call Button" designed to minimize contact in elevators, a shared space, and to reduce the spread of pollutants, has succeeded in winning consecutive orders in Korea and China.
According to the company on Dec. 10, the "Motion Call Button" was installed in five elevators in the Hyundai Premium Outlet SPACE1, which opened on Nov. 6.
A company official said, "We originally planned to install a regular button, but we finally applied motion call button and touchless button after actively reviewing it with our customers in preparation for COVID-19."
The "Motion Call Button" recently succeeded in taking the lead in China, the biggest market for elevators, and has also opened the door for overseas exports.
Its application has been confirmed for 20 elevators to be installed at the Shinsung official residence, luxury apartment units under construction in the Donggang International Commercial District in Dalian, China, and will be tested there and installed in early 2021.
"Users, as well as construction companies and management entities are increasingly interested in elevator untact technology owing to COVID-19," an official said. "Untouch technologies such as 'H-Mobile Through' that call elevators using motion call button, touchless button, or cell phone Bluetooth functions are expected to become a new normal in the elevator industry."
