Samsung C&T announced the appointment of Oh Se-chul, vice president of the construction division, as president of the same division on Dec. 8.
Han Seung-hwan, vice president of the Samsung Human Resources Development Institute, was promoted to president of the resort division and CEO of Samsung Welstory.
Oh Se-chul, the new CEO, is an on-site expert who has experienced construction sites in Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai and has served as head of the global procurement office before leading the plant business division since December 2015.
Samsung C&T said Oh will exercise his outstanding technical skills and project capabilities in various fields of construction, civil engineering, plant and housing.
CEO Han Seung-hwan has served as vice president of the Human Resources Development Institute since December 2015 after having served as head of the management planning team of Samsung C&T, head of the personnel team and head of Smart Town Business Department of SDS.
Samsung C&T said about the characteristics of the president's appointment, "We have realized change and innovation by boldly appointing on-site experts armed with the core experience and capabilities needed for each sector as CEO."
