Woori Bank announced on Jan. 24 that it held a management strategy meeting in the first half of 2021 in a non-face-to-face manner, with only a small number of executives and part of the award winners attending in consideration of its management continuity.
Kwon Kwang-seok, CEO of Woori Bank, said, "We set our management goal as 'Digital First, Digital Initiative' this year. Let's lead the future digital financial era by adding 'innovation D.N.A.' to ‘crisis-overcoming DNA’ that has a long history of 122 years."
"Innovation D.N.A." is a key management keyword made after the front letter of each English word representing Woori Bank's three major management directions in 2021, "Digital Innovation," "Net," and "Action."
"The acceleration of digital transformation is the most important thing in the rapidly changing digital era," CEO Kwon said. "Let's further accelerate digital innovation by having a 'Digital Mindset' that thinks about how we work, such as meetings, reporting, and decision-making."
In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the event allowed all employees to participate in non-face-to-face meetings such as in-house broadcasting and the bank's own media platform, Channel W.
Meanwhile, Woori Bank invited Yoon Ho-young, CEO of Kakao Bank, one of its competitors, as a special lecturer to give a lecture on 'digital innovation'. This is interpreted as a reflection of Kwon's willingness to innovate, saying that Woori Bank should be able to present new paths and learn better beyond stereotypes.
