Vice Chairman Lee told Samsung Electronics' executives and employees, "Because of my inadequacy, I made you worry again. I hope that Samsung will remain united."

This is the first time that Vice Chairman Lee, who was imprisoned at the Seoul Detention Center after being sentenced to a two-and-a-half-year prison term in a repatriation trial on Jan. 18, delivered a prison message to executives and employees. This message was shared through Samsung Knox, Samsung Group's internal intranet.

"There have been many difficult situations in and out of Samsung over the past few years," Vice Chairman Lee said in a message. "But as you have worked silently and firmly protected Samsung, I ask you to continue to be one heart without shaking."

He stressed, "Regardless of my situation, Samsung should continue to go the way it should go. The promises I have already made to the people must be kept."

Vice Chairman Lee also said, "We should also be faithful to the company's duty of investment and job creation. We should be reborn as Samsung, which fulfills social responsibility."

Vice Chairman Lee was sentenced to two and a half years in prison and imprisoned on Jan. 18th in a repatriation trial for the destruction of the state affairs manipulation case.

Vice Chairman Lee's sentence was confirmed on Jan. 25 as both Vice Chairman Lee and Park Young-soo's special prosecutor team did not appeal again.

Vice Chairman Lee's imprisonment message is the second time after he said through his lawyer on Jan. 21 that he would continue to support the activities of the Compliance Surveillance Committee.
