Korean Air, the No. 1 player in the Korean aviation industry, and Naver, which leads Korea's digital innovation, have joined hands to transform aviation services.
Korean Air and Naver held a signing ceremony for the MOU at Naver's Green Factory on February 24 with officials from both companies, including Korean Air CEO Woo Ki-hong and Naver CEO Han Sung-sook, in attendance.
"If Naver's platform, contents, and new technologies are used to enhance Korean Air's aviation service, we will increase customer value even more," said Woo Ki-hong, CEO of Korean Air. "We plan to create a new business model based on rapidly changing aviation industry trends through cooperation with Naver."
Naver CEO Han Sung-sook said, "Naver and Korean Air will continue to find ways to cooperate in various fields by sharing the goal of 'improving user experience' and Naver will be able to add 'smartness' to the aviation service sector based on technology and service capabilities."
“The signing of the business agreement between Korean Air and Naver is the result of the two companies' interest in "maximizing customer experience and value,” a Korean Air official said.
He said, “The decision is based on the confidence that aviation services can be drastically changed by combining Korean Air's information and know-how on aviation services, and Naver's digital capabilities and artificial intelligence technology.”
“Starting with this business pact, the two companies will create synergy effect of increasing customer value through convenience improvement by continuously improving directly and indirectly related user experiences (UX),” he added.
