LG Display made an announcement on March 2 that it will implement "four major safety management measures" aimed at eradicating safety accidents.
"Life and safety are the most important things," said Chung Ho-young, CEO of LG Display. "The company will make life and safety of its employees and business partners a top priority."
CEO Chung then stressed, "We will make sure to achieve fundamental innovation at the level of safety management with a strict responsibility that all business spaces should be places where our family can work with confidence."
As a first safety management measure, LG Display decided to immediately conduct high-intensity precision safety diagnosis for all businesses.
In particular, world-class professional institutions, business partners and LG Display workers at the front line of the site will also participate to conduct specific and practical diagnosis.
As a second safety management measure, LG Display will control "major risk work" to create a workplace where all employees of its suppliers can work safely.
As a third safety management measure, experts in safety environment with experience and capabilities will be fostered in the field. Recently, demand for safety environment professionals is increasing at many industrial sites, but it is not easy to secure manpower, so the company plans to foster professionals in conjunction with external institutions such as universities and research institutes.
As a fourth safety management measure, LG Display is going to establish a responsible organization for safety and environment. It is also going to greatly expand the authority, capabilities, and size of manpower of the safety organization.
LG Display also announced that it will actively hire foreign experts in related fields and strengthen personnel in charge of safety.
