The relics of Baekbeom Kim Koo have returned to the Korean people's precious cultural heritage.
Starbucks Coffee Korea held an independent cultural heritage protection event with the Cultural Heritage Administration (Director Kim Hyun-mo) and Cultural Heritage National Trust (Chairman Kim Jong-kyu) at Jungmyeongjeon Hall in Deoksugung Palace on March 5, and held a ceremony to deliver Baekbeom Kim Koo's writing titled, "Chunhawigong"
The handwriting of Baekbeom Kim Gu, which Starbucks will donate this time, is written in 1948 and has the meaning that "The world is not an individual's private possession, but belongs to everyone."
In addition to Baekbeom Kim Koo's handwriting delivery ceremony, which was purchased through the Independent Cultural Heritage Protection Fund sponsored by Starbucks last year, Starbucks donated 100 million won to the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Cultural Heritage National Trust.
Since signing an agreement with the Cultural Heritage Administration in 2009, Starbucks has been actively preserving Korean cultural assets, including community traditional culture conservation activities, restoration and preservation of the Korean legation, state donation activities, scholarships for independence patriots, and ancient palaces.
"Our mission to protect Korean heritage is to fulfill Starbucks' mission and our partners' great pride," said Song Ho-seop, CEO of Starbucks. "We will continue to work with all our customers to pay more attention to protect Korean heritage."
