Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) announced on March 11 that it will enter the "Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC)" market this year, which is drawing attention as a next-generation training system.
LVC is a state-of-the-art education system that provides a more realistic and immersive experience by providing infinite space and changing threats to proceed with training.
It provides a high sense of immersion by combining 4th industrial technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR).
The South Korean military is also preparing LVC-related projects as part of smart defense innovation as large-scale joint drills are possible at low cost.
South Korea's Ministry of National Defense announced last year that it plans to establish a synthetic training environment that integrates each training system. The Army, Navy, and Air Force are also planning to carry out a project to develop a simulated scenario, which is a kind of Constructive training for war games.
KAI is a traditional powerhouse in the training system business and aims to secure an advantage as a leader in the LVC business by combining war game simulation training technology with existing aircraft and simulator development capabilities.
"We plan to contribute to creating a more efficient and strong military through the development of customized LVC for the military in the future," a KAI official said. "As a powerhouse in the defense training system, we will preempt the LVC field."
Meanwhile, KAI signed a business agreement with eight companies that have war game training technologies on March 3.
