As Covid-19 caused longer than expected interruption to the global market, many companies have faced challenges such as reduced revenue and market activities. Midst of this, a Korean domestic smart livestock management company is expanding its overseas presence and bravely facing the challenges in this difficult market.
uLikeKorea, led by CEO Kim Hee-jin, a smart farm livestock health management company, announced on March 15 that it had sent in a team of professionals to UAE’s Al Ain Dairy Farm to install its smart farm system.
Kim stated that as per the request of UAE, we sent in our team to UAE to install the smart farm system. There were certainly challenges such as the quarantine requirement but we could not delay the project any longer either.
Al Ain Farm was established in 1981 and was one of the first dairy farms in UAE with over 7000 dairy cows, and 2000 camels. The farm is a professional dairy company that processes and sells various milk and dairy products. uLikeKorea is a smart farm company which produces the Livecare bio-capsule, an ICT based device.
uLikeKorea has been working in UAE since 2019 for product verification and was selected by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in its “Agritech ICT system” project.
According to uLikeKorea, it selected the team members with expertise in LoRA technology, members from top universities to form a consortium to install the UAE version of the smart livestock system. The consortium developed the bio-capsule, gateway and other telecommunication devices which received the necessary certification.
Kim further stated “we have currently administered our capsules at the UAE Al Ain farm in its dairy cows and providing training sessions to the farm managers. We are now able to collect data in real time due to the LoRa gateway being installed and can monitor the dairy cows’ biometric data in a stable platform.”
