Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) has established cyber power plant VR•AR (virtual reality and augmented reality) system for Singori Units 5 and 6.
Cyber power plant is a virtual reality power plant that utilizes fourth industrial revolution technology to implement an environment similar to a real power plant.
It is expected to improve construction quality by preventing problems such as optimizing construction processes, design errors, and space-time submission by enabling 4D simulation, VR walk-down system, VR major devices installation and disassembly simulation.
This is an implementation of safety construction measures for nuclear power plants related to the resumption of construction of Singori Units 5 and 6, and has been working with Korea Electric Power Technology, Youl System, Pomiteu, and KEPCO KDN since 2018.
"Successful development of cyber power plant system, one of the Korean digital new deal projects, will further increase the quality and operational safety of nuclear power plants," said Choi Il-kyung, head of KHNP's nuclear power plant construction department.
