Hyundai Elevator announced on April 1 that it has completed the construction of a smart campus in Geumsan Industrial District, Shanghai, China, including smart factory, test tower, R&D center, and customer care center.
Earlier, Hyundai Elevator's Chinese subsidiary finished the completion of production lines such as Smart Factory in November last year.
The smart campus includes a smart factory (23,500 elevators and 1,500 escalators) a test tower (175 meters above ground, 11 meters below ground), R&D center, and customer care center that monitors and maintains elevator operations in real time.
With the completion of this smart campus, the production capacity of Chinese subsidiary has increased 3.5 times compared to the previous 7000 units.
Song Seung-bong, CEO of Hyundai Elevator, said, "Based on its enhanced design and untact technology capabilities along with production line optimization, we will expand our influence in the global landmark market as well as the new city construction project being pursued by the Chinese government."
Hyundai Elevator plans to become a top tier brand in China, the world's largest elevator market, and grow Shanghai Smart Campus into a global market hub by combining cutting-edge technologies such as IT convergence and advanced products.
