CJ OliveNetworks announced on April 4 that it has signed a MOU to supply smart farm solutions to Smart Farm Village, which is scheduled to be established in Pocheon City.

The signing ceremony was held on April 3 at Hanwha Resort in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province. Major officials, including Pocheon Mayor Park Yoon-guk, Chinese Ambassador to Korea Xing Haiming, Mega Farm Village CEO Ji Young-mo and CJ Olive Networks CEO Cha In-hyuk, attended the ceremony.

Smart Farm Village, which will be built around Gwanin-myeon, Pocheon, aims to develop a smart self-sufficient city in the fourth industrial era as a residential space combining smart agriculture, distribution and leisure using the latest IT technology and renewable energy.

Under the agreement with Mega Farm Village, CJ OliveNetworks plans to seek mutual development such as ICT cooperation in smart farm villages, research and development related to smart farm villages, joint business cooperation with Korean and Chinese agricultural companies, and smart farm technology cooperation in the global market.

CJ OliveNetworks establishes a development plan for all ICT fields to create smart farm villages and implements software (SW) systems related to smart farms, and implements AI and IoT technologies. Through this, it supports integrated digital transformation service businesses consisting of facilities, SW, and maintenance.

In particular, it implements smart farms with advanced convergence ICT technology based on "Factory One," a smart factory solution.

By applying cloud-based IoT sensing technology, it will contribute to innovation in cutting-edge agricultural technologies and creation of added value by being able to monitor and control data according to climate conditions such as temperature, humidity, CO2, air quality, and pH/EC.

It will also develop growth analysis algorithms such as growth conditions or prediction of growth by combining the company's big data analysis and machine learning technology with agricultural life technology.

"We expect the agricultural industry to develop and contribute to future growth industrialization with AI-based smart farm solutions using IoT, cloud and big data," said Cha In-hyuk, CEO of CJ OliveNetworks. "We will actively participate in presenting new directions in the smart farm industry."

Meanwhile, CJ OliveNetworks actively cooperates for the development of ICT technologies by establishing an e-sports stadium in Gwangju and signing an MOU to improve the digital island culture in Sinan-gun.
