The best security technology "Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technology" has been applied to IP equipment and will be available for B2B companies.
SK Telecom and IDQ (ID Quantique) announced on April 6 that they succeeded in applying quantum cryptographic communication technology to IP equipment for enterprises such as routers and switches, and completed development of 'Quantum VPN technology' for enterprises.
Virtual Private Network (VPN) is an enterprise communication service that can provide independent network services to individual B2B customers.
IDQ is a subsidiary of SKT and is the world's No. 1 quantum specialized company based in Switzerland and has secured patents and research personnel related to quantum cryptography.
With the development of Quantum Key Distributor (QKD) based Quantum VPN technology, it is expected that companies without dedicated networks will be able to use telecommunication security services using quantum passwords.
"Quantum VPN Technology" is a solution that combines IP equipment security technology for enterprises with quantum cryptography technology, which can be flexibly applied to various B2B network structures and services and maximizes security.
"We believe that this link will provide a foundation for more B2B customers to experience quantum security one step ahead," said Ha Min-yong, head of Innovation Suite at SKT. "We will continue to develop related technologies and cooperate to provide the best security to our customers."
