It is the first case of an augmented reality app run by a domestic telecommunications company to enter the North American market, and it is expected to serve as an important opportunity to expand the global market in the future.

SKT will release digital human content of T1 professional gamer "Faker" Lee Sang-hyuk, who is building a thick fandom around the world beyond Korea, on its Jump AR app from April 12.

SKT photographed Faker with the volumetric video capture technology of its mixed reality content production company Jump Studio during the off-season of eSports in November last year and implemented AR-based 'Digital Faker' with realistic and colorful motions.

In addition to simple motion, the digital faker combines the background of the LoL game and AR character that Faker is active in to create various scenes in the game, and communicates with fans at fan signing events and cheering songs.

Fans are expected to summon a variety of digital fakers anytime, anywhere, and have intimate experiences such as placing them wherever they want and living together.

SKT also officially launched its augmented reality app "Jump AR" on the "Google Play Store" in the U.S.

In addition, it is possible to take photos and videos of the moment with the digital faker and share them with your personal SNS account.

In the future, people living in the U.S. will enjoy Korean mixed reality content through SKT's Jump AR app. SKT expects Faker's digital character, which has a global fandom, to have a positive effect on Jump AR's entry into the U.S. market.

Jun Jin-soo, head of SKT MR Service Co., said, "Digital Human will become a key future food for various industries such as entertainment, advertising, and concierge in the future. Starting with Digital Faker, we will grow SKT's jump service into a global service that can communicate vividly as if it is in space."
