This program is designed to help South Korean companies develop plans by discovering overseas smart city businesses and supporting South Korean companies' overseas expansion.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plans to discover smart city cooperation projects in 11 overseas cities this year to spread excellent technology and export Korea's smart city technology through smart solution-type overseas demonstration.
In particular, in the case of smart solution-type overseas demonstrations, it is expected that the application and demonstration of technology will be smoother because Korean companies submit applications after consulting with overseas governments in advance.
First of all, if you look at the results of this contest by region and country, 35 cases were submitted in New Southern 10 countries, 33 cases in 8 countries in New Northern, and 19 cases in 6 countries in Latin America.
In particular, the scope of this year's contest expanded as countries such as Africa (Ghana, Nigeria, Morocco, etc.), the Middle East (Jordan, Iran, etc.) and the United States, France and Spain participated in the contest.
By type, 57 cases of smart urban development were submitted in 24 countries, and requests were made to establish a road map for smart city development throughout the city, build satellite cities, develop innovative development zones, and develop industrial complexes.
40 Smart Solution Planning Types were submitted from 16 countries. There were requests in the transportation sectors (13 cases) such as the introduction of intelligent transportation systems, urban management sectors (4 cases) such as urban control center advancement and urban integrated system development, environmental sectors (5 cases) such as smart parks and environmental management systems, and safety sectors (5 cases) such as smart crime prevention.
14 overseas demonstrations of smart solutions were submitted from 12 countries, and there were requests from transportation areas (3 cases) such as smart parking and smart street lamps, smart water management areas (4 cases), safety areas (2 cases) such as disaster management and safety services, and telecommunication areas (2 cases) such as the establishment of telecommunication infrastructure.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plans to collect opinions on the status of cooperation between the government, promising businesses, and possible cooperation with Korean companies, and later, it plans to hold a separate evaluation committee consisting of internal and external experts to announce the final selection on June 23.
