SK Telecom is going to introduce 5G-based drone control solutions at '2021 Drone Show Korea', Korea's largest drone exhibition that will be held in BEXCO, Busan from April 29 to May 1.
SKT will set up a 144㎡ exhibition hall and display various advanced technologies that can be applied to video control system using drones such as 5G and AI.
SKT is going to introduce 'T Live Caster', a solution that allows remote control of drones, by sending and receiving high-definition images taken by drones in real time.
'T Live Caster' can be applied to industrial drones released by various South Korean manufacturers and DJI. Not only drones but also various cameras such as smartphones and CCTVs can be integrated and controlled.
"T Live Caster" has been supplied to more than 50 public institutions and companies since its launch in 2018 and has been used for various purposes.
In 2020, it was applied to 462 patrol cars belonging to 17 police stations nationwide, sending videos taken from patrol cars to the National Police Agency's general situation room in real time to help share the situation quickly.
SKT is also going to introduce '5GX Drone Live', an autonomous flight solution that combines 5G and AI technologies.
By utilizing 'Drone Live', which is a mobile communication-based autonomous flight solution, drone flight can be completed easily in large areas. The user only needs to set the purpose and area of the flight.
SKT also unveiled a system that helps drone users easily manage photos and videos collected by drones.
SKT's video analysis system allows people, cars, and ships to be distinguished by analyzing filming videos in real time. It also provides changed geographical information by organizing photos taken by drones based on location and date of shooting.
SKT said it has prepared visitors to experience the convenience of drone video control services that incorporate advanced technologies such as 5G and AI.
