Hanmi Pharm announced that it will launch the COVID-19 self-inspection kit of SD Biosensor as its own brand and start distributing it to pharmacies nationwide from May 10.
"HANMI COVID-19 Home Test," newly launched by Hanmi Pharm, is the same product as "STANDARD Q COVID-19 Ag Home Test," where SD Biosensor received conditional permission from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
The "HANMI COVID-19 Home Test" self-examination kit allows users to drop samples taken directly from the nasal cavity into the kit and visually check whether a control line (C) and a test line (T) are marked within 15 to 30 minutes.
If two red lines (C and T) appear simultaneously in the kit, it is suspected to be positive for COVID-19, and at that time, you must visit a screening clinic operated by the quarantine authorities for genetic amplification-based diagnostic tests. If only one red line (C) appears, it is negative.
"The launch of Hanmi Pharm brand, which has strengths in distribution such as pharmacies, will be an opportunity to further enhance its competitiveness," a company official said. "We expect to help prevent self-inspection kits through smooth distribution and spread."
"But since self-test kits are an auxiliary means, suspected infections with symptoms or clear mechanical links must be tested for gene amplification at screening clinics run by quarantine authorities," he added.
This product is a medical device that can be purchased at pharmacies without a prescription, and is distributed through Online Farm (Hanmi Science affiliate), a company specializing in sales marketing related to healthcare products.
For consumers who need to purchase non-face-to-face due to the nature of the product, it can also be purchased on the Pro-Calm website, an online farm shopping mall site.
In addition, Hanmi Pharm will sell its self-inspection kits to domestic companies through ServeOne, the nation's largest company specializing in purchasing MRO (maintenance, repair and operations).
Hanmi Pharm and ServeOne also signed a contract in January to distribute HANMI COVID-19 Quick TEST.
