Woori Financial Group decided to provide $100,000 in donations to the Love Fruit Social Welfare Community Fund, a non-profit organization in Korea, and the local non-profit organization "United Way India" to restore the medical system in India and provide rapid support to the vulnerable.
Donations will be used to support the community through purchasing medical equipment such as ventilators and oxygen respirators, restoring the medical system, including temporary board hospitals and bed construction, and providing daily necessities and food for the vulnerable.
Son Tae-seung, chairman of Woori Financial Group, said, "India's spread of COVID-19 is not just a crisis, but a common crisis for mankind, so we decided to provide emergency assistance as a global financial group."
Meanwhile, Woori Financial Group has three branches of Woori Bank, including its headquarters in India, and plans to use local networks to actively support the spread of COVID-19 in the future.

또한, 인도 정부의 도시봉쇄가 지속되며 인도 사회에서 가장 취약한 일용직 근로자, 해외이주 노동자들의 실직이 늘어나 생계 유지가 어려운 가정이 급증하는 등 최악의 상황을 맞이하고 있다.
우리금융지주는 인도지역 의료체계 복구 및 취약계층에 대한 신속한 지원을 위해 국내 비영리기관인 사랑의 열매 사회복지공동모금회와 인도 현지 비영리기관 ‘United Way India’에 기부금 10만달러를 긴급 지원키로 했다.
기부금은 인공호흡기, 산소호흡기 등 의료장비 구매, 임시 판자 병원 및 병상 건축 등을 비롯한 의료체계 복구와 취약계층을 위한 생필품 및 식료품 제공 등을 통한 지역사회 지원에 사용된다.
