Woori Financial Group announced on July 11 that it held a "Group Management Strategy Workshop in the second half of 2021" at Vision Hall in its headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, Korea with about 600 employees, including MZ generation employees.
The MZ generation is a Korean term referring to millennials and Generation Z that includes people born between the 1980s and 2010s.
As the spread of COVID-19 became serious again, participants participated in the event in a non-face-to-face manner using online platforms such as YouTube.
At the event, Chairman Son Tae-seung praised executives and employees and presented "speed" and "corporate culture" as key keywords for management in the second half of the year, following the first quarter when the group realized record-high performance.
"Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the acceleration of digital innovation, all lifestyles have changed rapidly and the market has become unpredictable," said Chairman Son. "In the second half of the year, Woori Financial Group should speed up all its businesses and become a game changer who creates groundbreaking strategies."
"We should pay more attention to voices from the MZ generation that has been the driving force in the digital era," said Woori Financial Group Chairman Son during a group management strategy workshop on July 9. "The MZ generation is now the main generation that leads the current and future of the group."
Shortly after the workshop, Chairman Son and group executives also had a time to communicate with MZ generation employees on the theme of generational empathy.
