Woori Financial Group said on August 3 that Chairman Son Tae-seung purchased 5,000 shares of Woori Financial Group. As a result, the total number of Woori Financial Group shares held by Chairman Son totaled 93,127 shares.

Chairman Son has been buying corporation's own shares in every important moment since he took office in March 2018. In total, it purchased them 14 times, expressing the firmness and corporate value of Woori Financial Group to the market.

Despite concerns that the recent spread of the COVID-19 Delta virus will delay the economic recovery, Chairman Son also expressed confidence in the second half of the year's performance.

Earlier, Woori Financial Group announced on July 21 that it had demonstrated its best-ever performance since the transition of its landowners based on upgraded profitability, soundness, and synergies between subsidiaries through its first-half earnings announcement.

A bank official said, "Woori Financial Group will do our best to ensure positive performance in the second half of the year based on strong profit generation in the first half."
