Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin said “Secure key talent and establish a fair personnel system” at the 'Value Creation Meeting (VCM) in the second half of 2021' held in early July.
At the request of Chairman Shin, Lotte Holdings established a health care team under the Management Innovation Office in early August and appointed Woo Woong-jo, an outsider, as the team leader.
The reason Lotte Group scouted Team Leader Woo is because the group decided that the group's next-generation core business would be healthcare.
Woo received a bachelor's degree in computer science from Boston College in Massachusetts, USA. He manufactured wearable devices such as handsets at LG Electronics and SK Telecom. Since November 2014, he has been in charge of health services at Samsung Electronics.
Lotte Ventures participated as an investor in the senior healthcare platform 'Caredoc'. Lotte Mart opened its first Health Market in Namyangju on July 1.
The Health Market is a place that reviews an individual's health condition and eating habits, informs them of nutrients that need supplementation, and sells necessary foods.
Lotte Hi-Mart also creates spaces dedicated to healthcare throughout its stores.
