KB Kookmin Bank announced on September 23 that it has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Lloyd's Banking Group in the UK.
Through this MOU, KB Kookmin Bank will be able to selectively jointly invest in a real estate syndicated loan conducted by Lloyd's Banking Group, and the two companies plan to expand the scope of cooperation in the future.
KB Kookmin Bank plans to lay a foothold for pioneering overseas financial markets through cooperation with global financial institutions. Through the agreement, Lloyd's Banking Group plans to strengthen its network with Asian financial institutions and solidify its position in the UK market.
Meanwhile, KB Kookmin Bank is steadily expanding and continuing its global IB domain, focusing on high-quality real assets such as co-arranging natural gas pipelines in Canada and collateralized loans for Google Office in Silicon Valley in the United States, even when it is difficult to carry out overseas projects due to COVID-19.
KB Kookmin Bank opened IB units in Hong Kong in 2017 and New York and London in 2019. In December of this year, it plans to open an IB unit in Singapore. KB Kookmin Bank is planning to strengthen its IB competitiveness and secure new growth engines by securing global bases in advanced financial countries.
