Muksking is creating a new paradigm for the stage arts, which is actively seeking to improve conditions and support minor artists, claiming to have a special enjoyment that has never been seen before.

“Muksking offers a new perspective on isolated objects and provides small performances to everyone living in their daily lives by connecting isolated artists, isolated spaces, and isolated audiences,” said CEO Lee Sung-hwan.

There are many people who are interested in the performance, but the reality is that not many people actually go to see it.

Muksking plans to present popular and customized performances in everyday spaces to improve conditions for minor artists with annual income of less than 10 million won.

Due to low accessibility, high ticket prices, and content and events centered on passionate fans, very few people enjoy stage performances.

“Muksking is trying to break this barrier for people who want to enjoy the performance but are having a hard time," said CEO Lee. "We are also seeing the effect of reducing space restrictions and reducing rental fees for concert halls by using convenient places in our daily life such as lobbies, coffee shops, pubs, and streets.”

The reason CEO Lee started this business was watching a busking performance.

"Watching a musician playing music outside in the cold winter, I thought there might be a way for this person to be recognized and perform in a better environment," added CEO Lee. "We create new content through communication between musicians and audiences in a space that was not generally recognized."

The company is growing together with minor artists, providing a stable stage where they can continuously earn money and communicate with the audience.

Their stages are not restricted. They use unused spaces such as movie theaters, shopping malls, and work commute routes, where they are getting positive reactions by providing customized performances fit to the location.

Through this, the company has successfully executed 8 different performance concepts and 50 stages.

“I hope Muksking will become a hope for working artists so they don’t have to  give up their dream due to financial struggles,” said CEO Lee.

Meanwhile, Muksking was acknowledged as a promising startup and was selected for the ‘2021 Y&Navigator 2nd Batch’ accelerator program hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization, and operated by Y&Archer.
