Korean Air announced on Oct. 20 that it will resume operation of the Hawaii route linking Incheon and Honolulu from Nov. 3. It has been 19 months since the operation was suspended as of April 3, 2020, due to COVID-19.
Korean Air operates the Hawaiian route three times a week. Korean Air has decided to resume operations in line with the recent increase in visitors due to the increase in COVID-19 vaccination rates.
The number of Korean tourists visiting Hawaii has been on a steady rise, expanding from 200 in January to 1,000 per month recently.
Hawaii is the undisputed No. 1 destination in the best travel destination survey selected by Korean Air flight attendants for years. Korean Air operated the Incheon-Hawaii route 14 times a week before COVID-19.
Korean Air plans to continue to review the resumption of suspension routes so that customers can enjoy overseas trips more safely and joyfully, considering the increase in COVID-19 vaccination and the increase in overseas visitors along with the coronavirus situation in Korea.
