CJ OliveNetworks announced on October 20 that it provided a differentiated experience to participants by supporting a new concept metaverse platform at the Seoul Smart City Leaders Forum.

At the Metaverse discussion, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon appeared as an avatar and greeted the citizens.

Both the conference room and the avatar were implemented in 3D with a realistic feel. Both speakers and citizen participants connected as avatars in their respective spaces, and the meeting was full of liveliness and realism.

The Smart City Leaders Forum promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government has been held since 2016 to seek ways to cooperate and develop between Seoul, businesses, academia, and global cities with the core technology of the 4th industrial revolution on the agenda.

This year, under the theme of non-face-to-face society and an accelerated future, "SSW Insight" was held, combining innovative solutions examples of digital companies and 4th industrial technologies in the form of lectures.

In addition, the "Seoul Smart City Leaders Forum" was held, which consisted of discussions on ICT policies of Korean and overseas cities.

Son Jong-su, head of AI-Core Research Center at CJ OliveNetworks, participated in a lecture on AI technology-based digital transformation (DT) at SSW Insight.

Director Sohn introduced business innovation cases such as predicting the direction of grain purchase using AI analysis modeling based on satellite data, and changing productivity through the establishment of an AI factory solution that converges DT new technologies such as AI, big data, and block chain.

He introduced a cooperative program with Innovation Academy 42 SEOUL, an educational institution for nurturing software talents jointly opened by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Seoul Metropolitan Government in December last year. 

He also announced support for nurturing future talents for the development of the artificial intelligence industry.

Meanwhile, CJ OliveNetworks signed a business agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government for the operation of the metaverse pilot service in September and is supporting the city's introduction of the metaverse municipal administration.
