Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) successfully demonstrated the KF-21 virtual test flight and future technology at ADEX 2021 in Seoul.
The virtual test flight of the KF-21, which was unveiled for the first time, an amphibious attack helicopter-based unmanned complex system (MUM-T) that will increase survivability and mission performance, and a futuristic training system using Metaverse caught the attention of customers and visitors.
When the KF-21 flew over Jamsil in Seoul, Mt. Halla in Jeju Island, and Dokdo, the audience cheered.
KAI conducted active export marketing for business cooperation, technical cooperation, and new market development. Various customers were interviewed about the company's main export models, such as the FA-50, KT-1, KF-21, Surion, UAV, and UAM.
The next-generation basic trainer and FA-50 performance improvement to which the electric propulsion system is applied received a lot of attention from major export destination countries.
The export-type FA-50, which applied an air-to-air refueling function to improve air-to-air and air-to-ground armament capabilities and extend the cruising range, reached a peak in inquiries from export destination countries with the boarding of the FA-50 by South Korean President Moon Jae-in.
Delegations from countries such as Malaysia, Senegal, Philippines, Peru, Colombia, and UAE showed great interest in the KF-21 as well as the FA-50 and KT-1.
KAI has collaborated with Hyundai Heavy Industries to develop Korea's first light aircraft carrier.
It also strengthened cooperation with domestic and foreign companies to localize the power transmission system, a core technology for helicopters. The company also agreed to actively cooperate with Airbus to advance into the global market in the space sector.
The space field, where all attention was focused on the launch of the Korean launch vehicle Nuri, made my heart flutter with the encouragement and praise of not only the audience but also the whole nation.
