LG Display announced on October 27 that it held the 1st ESG Committee meeting on October 26.
The company said that the committee had appointed a chairperson and discussed ESG management performance reporting, such as purchasing new and renewable energy through the green premium system, issuing green bonds, and discussing ESG management promotion plans.
The LG Display ESG Committee was established last April to fulfill its responsibilities and roles for the environment and society by making decisions on basic policies and strategies for ESG management, and to establish a transparent governance structure.
Lee Chang-yang, a professor at KAIST Business School, was appointed as the chair of the ESG committee.
Since 2019, Professor Lee has served as an outside director of LG Display and is actively participating in responsible management centered on the board of directors.
At the meeting, LG Display decided to establish customer value innovation for new growth and management based on human respect as the ESG management direction, and build LG Display's own ESG management.
To this end, nine core areas such as climate response, resource circulation, workplace safety, and human rights management will be set, and various tasks will be identified and actively implemented in each area.
LG Display plans to accelerate ESG management, fulfilling its responsibilities as a global citizen, and strive to become a company that grows with society.
