Based on the wearable robot jointly developed by Hyundai Rotem with Hyundai Motor, it will expand its business area from the existing manufacturing industry to agriculture.
Hyundai Rotem announced on October 29 that it is exhibiting a wearable robot that assists muscle strength at the "2021 International Agricultural Expo" held at the Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Technology Institute in Naju, Jeollanam-do for 11 days from October 21.
There are three types of robots exhibited this time: vest-type wearable robot (VEX), fork-type wearable robot (H-Frame), and chair-type wearable robot (CEX).
VEX is a device that relieves arm and shoulder fatigue when lifting the arm for a long time.
H-Frame is effective for lifting objects from the floor to waist height, and CEX helps support the wearer's posture in a sitting position.
These products are expected to be used in a variety of ways in agricultural fields, such as harvesting fruits in high places, transporting heavy crops, and managing short crops.
Hyundai Rotem's wearable robots have already been commercialized in automobile, heavy industry, shipbuilding, logistics and distribution fields, including Hyundai Motor, Kia Motor, and Hyundai Steel.
Hyundai Rotem is planning to mass-produce and distribute agricultural wearable robots to Korean and foreign markets in the future, after passing through a verification stage such as a survey of customers and product performance.
Through this, it plans to gradually expand the market by distributing wearable robots required not only in the agricultural field but also in other industrial fields.
