LG Household & Health Care (LG H&H) announced on November 14 that it joined in the DJSI World index for 4 consecutive years for the first and only Korean cosmetics industry in the world's most prestigious 2021 Dow Jones Sustainability indices (DJSI) in the ESG evaluation.
DJSI comprehensively evaluates not only economic performance but also environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, comparing the level of sustainability management of companies and serving as a standard for responsible investment.
The main evaluation items consist of corporate governance, ethical management, risk management, climate change, human capital development, and social contribution. It is revised every year considering the importance of ESG management activities.
DJSI consists of DJSI World, which evaluates the top 2,500 global companies based on market capitalization, DJSI Asia Pacific, which evaluates the top 600 companies in Asia and Oceania, and DJSI Korea, which evaluates the top 200 companies in Korea.
322 companies, or 12.7 percent, of 2,544 global companies were included in this year's DJSI World Index. In Korea, 21 companies were joined.
153 out of 609 companies were included in the DJSI Asia Pacific index, and 32 Korean companies were included. 43 out of 203 companies were included in the DJSI Korea Index.
LG H&H has been included in the DJSI World Index for 4 consecutive years, Asia Pacific for 12 consecutive years, and Korea Index for 9 consecutive years.
