SPC Group announced on January 7 that it signed a contract with Shake Shack Enterprise of the United States for business operation in Malaysia.

This Shake Shack business right contract by SPC Group is the third contract after Korea and Singapore. The company plans to open its first Malaysian store in 2023.

"SPC Group and Shake Shack have built a long-standing partnership by opening 28 stores in Korea and Singapore," said Huh Hee-soo, Vice President of SPC Group. "We will continue to cooperate in various ways."

SPC Group has opened a total of 20 stores since opening the first Shake Shack store in Seoul in July 2016.

Since opening its first store in Singapore in 2019, it has been operating eight stores one after another in key commercial areas.

"Thanks to the love of global customers, we were able to announce a bigger leap forward in Southeast Asia," said Michael Kark, CGO of Shake Shack. "We will also work with SPC Group in Malaysia to convey the brand value of Shake Shack."

Meanwhile, since Shake Shack started in New York in 2001, it has been operating over 350 stores in 16 countries including the UK, Japan, UAE, Hong Kong, Dubai and Mexico.
