Mobile platform company Coop Marketing launched “Mobile Gifting Service” in Indonesia.
The mobile gifting service introduced by Coop Marketing in Indonesia allows users to purchase mobile vouchers and send them to friends and family.
Currently, 17 brands are included in the service with more than 70 different products available, and Coop Marketing plans to expand the number of affiliated brands to 100 by the end of this year.
Some of the showcased brands include, the two convenience store mega franchises, “Alfamart” and “Indomaret”, rapidly growing delivery platform “Grabfood”, and the largest multiplex “Cinema XXI”. Also, popular coffee franchises, "Kopi Kenangan", "Fore coffee", and popular F&B franchise "Bakmi GM" can be found as well.
Similar to the widely popular gifting service in South Korea, convenience is the key advantage. Even if the recipient’s delivery address is unclear, it is possible to send a gift by knowing the recipient’s mobile phone number only.
Moreover, messages and card images can be sent along with the product. The recipient can claim the gifts at the relevant brand’s store by paying with the barcode or QR code embedded in the mobile voucher.
In addition, the service offers various features that can increase the satisfaction of both customers and recipients, such as the "Shopping cart" function that allows one to buy various types of product and send them at once, and the "Reservation sending" function that allows one to reserve the date to send the gift in advance.
Indonesia is the world's 4th largest country in terms of population, with about 270 million people. With the young demographic structure and digital infrastructure, mobile commerce is continuously growing in Indonesia, and companies using mobile vouchers for marketing are also increasing alongside customers.
Mr. Woo-Jeong Jeon, CEO of Coop marketing, mentioned “Based on the know-how accumulated in the domestic mobile voucher industry, we have introduced Mobile Gifting Service to Indonesia.” He also mentioned “As the contactless trend lingers on due to prolonged Covid-19, users of mobile vouchers continue to increase, which will lead to the Mobile Gifting Service establishing itself as an essential service in the future.”
Meanwhile, Coop Marketing has acquired majority stake in ‘Aldmic Technology Indonesia’, an Indonesian mobile voucher company back in March 2021. Since the acquisition of majority stake, the company has changed its name to Aldmic Coopn Digital and has been operating as a joint force.
