Orion Confectionery (Orion), S. Korean cookie and cracker manufacturing company, announced on January 13 that it opened an integrated global carbon emission management system and started full-scale operation.
This system is a web-based system that can efficiently manage key data such as greenhouse gas emissions, emission rights, and emission facility status at Orion's Korean and overseas business sites and production plants in Korea, China, Vietnam, and Russia.
It operates in five languages, including Korean and English, as well as Chinese, Vietnamese, and Russian, so that local employees can easily enter and analyze data.
It is the first in the Korean food industry to have an online system that integrates and manages carbon emissions from domestic as well as overseas subsidiaries.
Orion plans to set an annual carbon emission target at the group level and implement integrated data management and greenhouse gas reduction activities.
Implementation results will be transparently disclosed to the outside world through the official website, etc. in order to strengthen ESG.
"As the first in the Korean food industry to operate a global carbon emission integrated management system, we have laid the foundation for practical greenhouse gas reduction activities," said a company official. "Orion will continue ESG activities based on eco-friendliness and ethical management, which is the group’s management policy.”
