LS Cable & System announced today that it has completed the power cable plant LSAGI in Indonesia. LSAGI is a joint venture between LS Cable & System and Indonesia's Artha Graha Network.
LS Cable & System started construction of the plant on a 64,000m² site in the Artha Industrial Complex near Jakarta in September 2020.
LSAGI mainly produces overhead cables for power transmission and distribution and low voltage (LV) cables for buildings and plants.
Indonesia is one of the largest cable markets in ASEAN where electricity infrastructure construction and construction are active.
The company expects that the cable market will recover rapidly due to the relocation of the capital to Indonesia and the entry of Korean companies.
"In the cable industry, policies to protect domestic companies are being strengthened in each country," said a company official. "LS Cable & System is responding with a strategy to promote new businesses tailored to the local market for each overseas business site and enhance its independent business capabilities.”
Meanwhile, with the completion of the Indonesian plant, LS Cable & System is now operating a total of 12 production subsidiaries in the US, Poland, Vietnam, and China.
