Monoverse is a new blockchain-based game developer made up of business experts and game developers from the 3N Korean game companies NCSOFT, NEXON, and Netmarble. The company’s game “Frutti Dino“ is one of the most popular NFT Play-to-Earn games of 2022. Through a partial upgrade, crafting system, and gameplay, users can “grow” their dinosaurs to become more powerful.

Monoverse recently announced its collaboration with EYL, a quantum encryption startup. After signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the company, Monoverse will test EYL’s high-performance quantum random number generator chip as a hardware solution for beefing up the security of encryption keys in its blockchain projects.

Moreover, they have just secured an investment from Neowiz, a global video game publishing company, to develop investment products for virtual-asset deposits and governance tokens as a GameFi service.

Korea IT Times interviewed Jayden Lee, CEO of Monoverse about their various projects and their collaboration with EYL that is aiming to help enhance the security of users’ private keys and cold wallets.

Tell us more about Monoverse

Monoverse has been involved with the development of Bitcoin and Ethereum mainnets since 2016, when Korean media were abuzz with talk of blockchain technology. Besides developing our own sidechain, Monoverse also specializes in various layer-2 solutions powering DeFi services, including Dino Defi, a peer-to-peer exchange platform for trading cryptocurrencies and digital assets.

Recently, we have also been focused on developing Frutti Dino, our play-to-earn game that is centered on living and evolving  Dino characters, purchased as NFTs. The game includes multiple game modes, offering players the ultimate personalized GameFi experience. As gamers play, their Dinos evolve through different life stages, incentivizing gamers to keep playing through sustained character progression , with more gameplay features and content at the forefront of our development strategy. Frutti Dino is expanding the current framework of gaming and provides users with a unique experience exclusive to our ecosystem.

How did you come up with the idea of connecting quantum physics and blockchain?

The cryptographic foundations that blockchains rely on today are quite solid, there are no specific problems on that front. However, experts point out that if quantum computers become common, the current storage and management protocols for blockchain private key could be compromised. We have chosen to preemptively combat this issue and were initially inspired by the complete randomness generated by entropy in quantum physics. Utilizing this science for blockchain implementation ensures ultimate randomness and protection of private keys, in a way that is practical for consumer use.

What is the aim of your collaboration with EYL?

At Monoverse, we firmly believe that no challenge has technical limits, and private key encryption is no different. Monoverse will utilize EYL's quantum random number generation technology to bolster private key security and future-proof its underlying technological stack. EYL is the leading provider of quantum-based RNG hardware, so they were the ideal partner for building a complete randomizer for private keys. Our collaboration with EYL will continue beyond this MOU as we develop a new consensus algorithm-based sidechain, node security, and NFT business. NFT games and coin transactions have added more regular, daily reliance on blockchains, which is why it is crucial to boost the security and allow users to manage their assets in a safer manner. As GameFi is adopted by beyond the narrow crypto-savvy community, their protection needs to be a priority.

What’s next for Monoverse?

Our goal is to create a unique Monoverse ecosystem built on our own sidechain, which we are currently developing. Seemingly all eyes are on the expansion of blockchain technology in general, with an expanding interest in GameFi and play-to-earn games. We aim to leap forward as a global blockchain company and are thrilled to be on the frontlines during this adoption.
