Orion announced on February 16 that its "Choco Pie" reached a record high with global annual sales exceeding KRW 500 billion in 2021.
Orion has been continuously launching new products in line with the cultures and trends of each country, such as Korea, China, Vietnam, and Russia, with 50 years of technological prowess.
Choco Pie, which was first introduced in 1974, based on its success in Korea, established a production plant in China in 1997 and entered the overseas market in earnest.
Since then, the company has been actively targeting the global market by building factories in Vietnam, Russia and India one after another.
Since the launch of the global research institute in 2017, Orion has integrated the R&D capabilities of each corporation to develop new flavors of Choco Pie each year tailored to the characteristics of consumers and markets in each country.
In China, Choco Pie strawberry grew by 58% compared to the previous year, gaining great popularity.
In Vietnam, Choco Pie sales grew by 20% compared to the previous year, exceeding the annual sales of 100 billion won in 16 years after starting local production.
In Russia, sales grew 33% year-over-year, showing the most notable growth.
“Orion is entering its second global heyday with continuous transformation and new attempts." said an official from Orion. "We will continue our reputation as a global brand by focusing on Orion's unique R&D capabilities for differentiated products and new market development."
