Orion announced today that it has been ranked 12th in the "2022 Confectionery Industry Global Top 100" announced by Candy Industry, a global confectionery industry magazine.
The "Global Top 100 Confectionery Industry" ranks the world's confectionery companies every year based on the previous year's sales.
Despite the global economic downturn last year, Orion continued its growth through the launch of competitive new products and market expansion at all subsidiaries, recording KRW 2.35 trillion in sales and KRW 372.9 billion in operating profit.
It is the only Korean company to enter the top 15 for 10 consecutive years.
Orion's Korean subsidiary aggressively launched 44 new products. Thanks to the health trend, sales of brands such as "Market O Nature" increased by more than 40% compared to the previous year, respectively.
The Chinese subsidiary continued its growth by expanding new categories as products such as “Choco Pie” became more popular.
The Vietnamese subsidiary increased its market share of potato snacks and rice snacks, and continued to expand new categories such as jellies and nuts to exceed 300 billion won in annual sales.
The Russian subsidiary surpassed 100 billion won in annual sales for the first time last year thanks to the popularity of Choco Pie, which is familiar to local consumers, and the multi-product reinforcement system.
An official from Orion said, "We will take a second global leap as a general food company with product know-how and overseas business capabilities we have accumulated over the past 60 years."
