SK Telecom will provide the NUGU opal function, an AI service for seniors, for free.
SK Telecom announced that it will provide various specialized services of NUGU opal for seniors for free, and reorganize NUGU safety, a safety product for seniors, from March 22 so that single-person households of all ages can use it.
NUGU opal was a paid product for 2,200 won per month. Through this reorganization, any customer who has NUGU speaker or "B tv set-top box" equipped with Nugu AI can use it for free.
This service provides functions such as brain gymnastics, healing gymnastics, medication notification, life notification, and exercise notification.
Healing gymnastics function can also serve as a simple home training helper at home, so it is popular in the recent pandemic situation where it is difficult to go out.
NUGU safe users can call emergency SOS by voice command in case of emergency. In case of an emergency SOS call, the SK Shielders control center receives a report 24 hours a day, and the control center attempts to connect the customer to the report and requests a rescue to the 119.
“In order to strengthen the social safety net support of the AI platform, NUGU opal has been made free of charge and NUGU safety has been reorganized,” said Lee Hyun-ah, SKT AI&CO (Company) manager. “SKT will continue to carry out various efforts to enhance ESG value.”
