ITC 2008 fulfilled its role in reminding every participant that the purpose of the exhibition is acquiring new business contracts and customers. The distinctive difference between this particular event and any other information technology exhibition or conference held this year was that the show floor was crowded with attendees of all different age groups and countries.

A boy band, Voice of Soul (V.O.S), gave out autographs at the entrance of the exhibition to attract the younger crowd, while the evaluation of major national policy projects was carried on the show floor with the judges all holding different titles. The show floor was full of professors, CEOs, college students, family members, and a great number of foreigners. Although an event was held at Songdo Convensia in Incheon, exhibitors from Daegu, Cheongju, and Gwangju participated in the exhibition. The most impressive thing about the show floor was that foreign buyers and officials from 24 different countries were there to share information and carry on business meetings with private interpreters sponsored by KOTRA and IITPA. Nearly 150 foreign buyers divided into two groups and alternated their roles. One day the first group toured the floor, while the second group had fully scheduled business meetings with Korean small and medium sized companies, and vice versa. "KOTRA and IITPA sponsored everything from plane tickets to room and board to private interpreters in order to fully function as the bridge between domestic markets to the global market," President Eugene Jun of Incheon Information Technology Industry Promotion Agency (IITPA) said. He further noted the definition of exhibition. "Exhibition must display highly advanced information technology and lead participants to 1:1 marketing. Without completing both, an exhibition has no value. The participant's business meetings were held in a tight schedule from 8:30 in the morning to late in the evening. Eighty-six companies shared a show floor to exhibit their products while ninety companies came to have business meetings without exhibiting their products. Three hundred sixteen companies interacted and held business meetings in a unit of Songdo Conventia, and those foreign companies who couldn't make it to the ITC 2008 video chatted with the Korean companies on a set schedule at Cyber Conference booths.

Global brands including Toshiba, Motorola, Canon, and Sprint also visited the ITC 2008 to have business meetings with the exhibitors. Senior Manager of Toshiba Kyusyu Branch, Tamaaki Wakata said: "We made a visit expecting to find high tech products that have been developed since our last visit, and find ways to work together."

President Eugene Jun said: "Next year, we will increase the size of the exhibition floor and use three units of the hall. ITC 2009 is going to be held on a larger scale then ever before as a part of the Global Fair and Festival 2009 in Incheon, Korea, and 30 programs are expected to run in the area."

"The success of the contract brings profits in range of 300,000 to 50 million dollars to the company," Jun continued. "KOTRA and the IITPA are planning to increase the budget to invite more foreign buyers to do visitations to the fair next year. We expect local companies to grab opportunities to be successful in the global market. ITC 2008 is only a stepping-stone in pursuit of the vision of Incheon."
