PORTLAND, Ore. - April 16, 2009 - The WiMAX Forum today announced that a Live WiMAX Tour will be held at the upcoming WiMAX Forum Congress Asia. Highly regarded as the leading, dedicated event for industry companies in the region, the WiMAX Forum Congress Asia will take place on April 28 - 29 at the Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore.
Set to depart from the Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre on Monday, April 27, the Live WiMAX Network Tour is an attraction created to showcase the latest advancements in WiMAX technology and Connection Manager Solution. The tour will take visitors to Johor Bahru, Malaysia, the latest unwired city and home to WiMAX wireless broadband.
The Live WiMAX Network Tour will provide attendees with the opportunity to enjoy live WiMAX connectivity on the move in a real-life metropolitan environment. Additionally, attendees will be able to experience seamless mobility between WiFi and WiMAX, which promises uninterrupted connectivity while on the go.
WiMAX Spectrum Workshop Asia
Also on Monday, April 27 will be a half day pre-conference Workshop led by key members of the WiMAX Forum Regulatory Working Group, with input from regulators, operators and specialist vendors. This highly practical interactive workshop will focus upon optimizing the use of spectrum that is now widely available across Asia. The goal is to bring together operators, vendors and regulators in an effort to break down the residual barriers to deployment that exist and explore implementation strategies that will satisfy the needs of all stakeholders. Regulators are invited to attend for free.
