On August 12, Genesis BBQ Group Chairman Yoon Hong-geun received a commendation from the New Jersey State Assemblyman Ellen Park in recognition of his contribution to economic development and job creation in New Jersey, the United States.
BBQ is operating a total of 10 stores including Westwood and Edison stores in New Jersey, contributing to job creation and regional economic development.
In addition, the company established the BBQ global corporate headquarters in New Jersey and is accelerating its penetration into the North American market by taking the lead in establishing a delivery culture and promoting K-chicken in the United States, where non-face-to-face orders have increased since the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I would like to thank BBQ for its continued investment that has contributed significantly to New Jersey's economic development and job creation," said Assemblyman Ellen Park. "I hope BBQ will continue to support and invest in the development of New Jersey in the future."
“I am honored to be recognized for the global business performance of BBQ," said Chairman Yoon Hong-geun. "In the future, we will continue to invest in New Jersey, open 10,000 stores in the United States, and strive to expand our global business to reach 50,000 franchisees worldwide.”
Meanwhile, BBQ ranked 2nd in America's fastest-growing restaurant brand by Nation's Restaurant News, a global food service magazine, in June.
