Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced today that it had successfully completed the "Tanzania Electric Railway System and Train Maintenance" training for Tanzanian railway officials.
This training was held in Dar es Salaam city for 5 days from October 10th for 40 working-level employees of the Tanzania Railway Corporation.
The program prepares to increase the understanding of electric railway vehicles and systems, and to enable field workers to perform maintenance of vehicles and facilities practically.
KORAIL entered the Tanzania railway business in 2014 and is expanding its scope by winning business orders one after another.
Ji Yong-tae, head of KORAIL's Overseas Inter-Korean Railroad Project Group, said, "We will spur our active entry into the global market based on the highest level of railway operation and maintenance technology."
Meanwhile, Tanzania is constructing a 1,219km central railway linking Dar es Salaam city and Mwanza city to revitalize logistics, and is conducting test runs of electric locomotives in some sections.
