LG Uplus announced today that it has developed the world's first "PQC PUF VPN" technology that significantly strengthens the security of CCTV by applying Post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) simultaneously with ICTK Holdings, a company specializing in IoT security.
PQC PUF VPN, which makes it impossible to duplicate and steal information even with quantum computers, is a double application of PUF and PQC to a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that connects CCTV and servers.
This is the third case in which PQC PUF technology is applied following "PQC PUF-USIM" and "PQC PUF-eSIM" developed by both companies.
In particular, the PQC PUF VPN is manufactured in a hybrid method, so that the existing encryption algorithm and the PQC algorithm are applied at the same time.
The hybrid method, which is a double security system, can protect external access through the other algorithm even if one of the two algorithms is disabled, thus increasing security even more.
LG Uplus plans to commercialize PQC PUF VPN in the first half of next year and sell intelligent CCTVs to which this technology is applied to small businesses. In addition, it plans to develop a service with PQC PUF VPN that can be used by the government and public institutions.
