LG Display will unveil a large number of innovative automotive displays at CES 2023, the world's largest IT and consumer electronics exhibition to be held in Las Vegas, the U.S. in January next year.
LG Display plans to set up a booth dedicated to automotive displays for the first time in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), a mobility technology exhibition hall, and introduce next-generation automotive display solutions to global electric parts and finished vehicle customers.
With Advanced Mobility Lifestyle as the theme of the exhibition, the company proposes the direction of mobility innovation, ranging from display to the eyes and sound technology to the ears.
LG Display unveils a variety of automotive displays optimized for future automobiles, such as ultra-large, low-power, ultra-high brightness, and differentiated designs based on LG Display's core technologies such as P-OLED (Plastic OLED) and LTPS (Low-temperature polycrystalline silicon) LCD.
P-OLED uses elastic plastic as a substrate instead of glass, so it is light and bendable while maintaining excellent image quality, making it suitable for realizing ergonomic curved surfaces. LTPS LCD is advantageous in realizing large size and high resolution compared to existing LCDs.
Along with this, LG Display plans to introduce a large number of innovative vehicle display technologies that will provide a new riding experience that has never been seen before, such as glasses-free 3D instrument panel and viewing angle control technology.
It also showcases in-vehicle sound solutions that will further enrich the infotainment experience.
"We will innovate the mobility experience based on differentiated technology and customer value in the automotive display business, which is a key part of future automobiles," said Kim Byeong-gu, head of LG Display's Auto Business Group.
